TE launches new TV-8 load standard OJT 10A power relay

"TE launched the new TV-8 load standard and 10A rated current OJT series relays, which can meet the market's demand for inrush current resistance without sacrificing valuable PCB space. Embedding more functions in a smaller space, It has become a common requirement for engineers to design new applications. This power relay provides engineers with a compact, high-performance design solution that can withstand inrush currents of up to 117A and reduce the size by 40% compared with similar products.

Strong inrush current capability, miniaturized design helps ensure safe and reliable lighting and other applications

TE Connectivity (TE), a global leader in connection and sensors, has launched a new TV-8 load standard and 10A rated current OJT series relays, which can meet the market's demand for inrush current resistance without sacrificing valuable PCB space. Embedding more features in a smaller space has become a common requirement for engineers to design new applications. This power relay provides engineers with a compact and high-performance design solution. Compared with similar products, it can withstand up to 117A inrush current and reduce the size by 40%.

The product has a mounting height of only 15.2mm and is UL TV-8 certified, meeting global industry safety standards for high inrush current applications. The UL TV-8 load standard enables the OJT 10A TV-8 relay to be used in equipment that generates high inrush current immediately after the switch is opened, helping to ensure safety and reliability.

OJT relays are available in 5 to 24 volt versions and are designed for indoor lighting applications, smart sockets, household appliances (washing machines, refrigerators, and kitchen appliances), industrial machinery, motors, industrial controls, HVAC, printers, and power controls.

Water Wang, product manager of TE Connectivity, said: "The new OJT 10A power relay adopts a compact design and has the ability to withstand high inrush current. It is an ideal solution for engineers to optimize the design and save costs."
